Home for the Holidays – Nov/Dec 2024
Moving into the stay-close-to-home-for-the-holidays season, so not a lot of running around on my calendar for these next few months… though close-to-home shenanigans may abound, so stay tuned nonetheless… (See, you do not have to TRAVEL to have SHENANIGANS!) A few already on my list are:
- MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS – Headed to St. Louis for a long-awaited Mother-Daughter date with my oldest that we’ve only been trying to schedule since August.
- A CHRISTMAS CAROL – Taking a short trip down to Springfield, MO to see a production of the musical version of Charles Dicken’s classicat the lovely Little Theatre there. While I enjoy all the Little Theatre productions, my retired theatre professor brother just happens to be involved in this one, so will be enjoying dinner and a night at the theatre with him. AND while I’m there, I’ll also be … (drum roll, please) … delivering THE AUDIO SCRIPT for Chasing Shadows since he’s agreed to both cast and direct the audio production for me!!! (Get chills just thinking about listening to THAT). https://www.springfieldlittletheatre.org/show/christmas-carol/
- A TAYLOR SWIFT BIRTHDAY PARTY – My soon-to-be-six granddaughter is a huge Swiftie and will be starring in her own Swiftie-themed birthday party. (Hey, this is the kid who offered me ALL of her tooth-fairy money if I’d stay another night the last time I visited, so you know I wouldn’t miss this.)
- I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS – And then there’s that whole week when my youngest daughter will be home from New England for the holidays. Since I only get to see her a couple times a year, those occasions are sacred and savored. Can’t wait!
May each of you have a wonderful holiday season as well – whether it is shared with loved ones or simply savored on your own in a delicious time of quiet and peace doing the things you love. Blessings upon all your heads.
