Author Event & Book-signing Ahead!

Super-excited to be heading to Morgenstern Books in Bloomington, IN for an evening’s discussion about Chasing Shadows, followed by a book-signing. Morganstern’s is the largest independent bookstore in Indiana – just check out their event calendar and you’ll be super-jealous it’s not in your own hometown, trust me!

My best shenanigans happen in the most roundabout ways! The Chicago Mystery Writers have an annual get-together in the Windy City (appropriately named ‘Murder and Mayhem’) which just happens to coincide with my bestie and business partner’s birthday, so last November we made a weekend of it. And while I was at the conference, I had the good fortune to take a seat beside the lovely Grace Hamilton, who is the Mystery Buyer (as in buyer of mysteries, not a buyer nobody knows is a buyer) for Morganstern Books. We hit it off and chatted about all things books, bookstores, and life in general. I promised to send her a copy of Chasing Shadows and she said she’d see about hosting an author event for me at Morganstern’s.

A woman of her word, she is! And when I found out I’d be driving through the great state of Indiana on my way to my daughter’s graduation from her pediatric residency program at Dartmouth in June… I reached out to Grace and suggested the scheduling might work best if we could combine the two. And lo, it was done. Meeting cool people. Visiting cool bookstores. Getting to talk about my book to cool people in cool bookstores. Yeah. Life is kinda fun!  Definitely cool.
